A Little about Nic

Rev. Nic Filzen has been in fellowship as a UU Minister since 2020 and was ordained in March 2021 by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Saint Petersburg and the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara.  He's been serving the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta since August 2021 and was installed as Lead Minister in November 2023.  He previously served as a community minister in and around Santa Barbara, CA; primarily working on social justice issues with interfaith groups such as CLUE, SB ACT, and Interfaith Sanctuary Alliance.  He was also a frequent guest speaker at neighboring UU congregations, like the Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula (where he served a three-month sabbatical ministry in 2021), the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kern County, and Live Oak UU of Goleta.  Nic is also an accomplished musician, earning his Master of Music Degree in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music in 2009.
